Nigerian music star Lil Kesh has candidly expressed his disbelief in the institution of marriage, citing high divorce rates and his observations of unhappy unions.

The 31-year-old "Shoki" hitmaker made these revelations during a recent appearance on the Esther Show, where he discussed his personal life and views on relationships.

"I just don't believe in marriage. They don't work," declared the artist, whose real name is Keshinro Ololade. "Have you seen the rate of divorces? I have seen a lot of unhappy marriages."

The rapper disclosed that he has been single for an extended period after ending his last relationship to focus on his musical career.

"I broke up with my last girlfriend because I figured out that I could do better on my own, as far as my career, everything that was a priority to me at the time was concerned," he explained.

Despite his current stance, Lil Kesh hasn't completely ruled out matrimony, suggesting it might be a consideration for the future. "Marriage? Maybe, later. But for now, I'm not of that mindset," he stated.

The artist emphasized that his reluctance isn't driven by a desire to maintain a playboy lifestyle but rather concerns about creating a genuinely happy household.

"It's not like I don't want to get married because I want to be free or be a playboy," he clarified. "Personally, I want a happy home and I don't feel like I can do that yet. And I'm not going to jeopardize any person's happiness just because I have to get married."

The singer also revealed that, at 31, he faces no parental pressure to marry, saying his family "has made peace with the fact that I am different."

For the time being, Lil Kesh maintains he is "not intentional about dating" and has no plans to "wife anybody anytime soon" or intentionally have children outside marriage.

This revelation adds Lil Kesh to the growing list of Nigerian celebrities who have publicly shared unconventional views on traditional relationship structures in recent years.
