Lion Killed Handler At Obasanjo Library
A tragic incident occurred at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Wildlife Park in Ogun State, where a 35-year-old lion handler, Babaji Daule from Bauchi State, was attacked and killed by a lion. The incident happened after the park's official closing time when a group of visitors requested a demonstration of the lion's feeding routine.
Against standard protocol, Daule entered the lion's enclosure without securing the safety gate, which led to the fatal attack. The lion was subsequently put down to prevent further harm to Daule's body.
The Ogun State Police Command has begun investigating the incident, and the matter has been reported for further investigation. The park's management emphasized that the activity fell outside standard feeding routines, highlighting the importance of adhering to safety protocols.
