Lawal Strikes Again as NK Istra Edge Orijient in Pre-Season Clash

Former Flying Eagles striker Salim Fago Lawal continued his impressive pre-season form for NK Istra of Croatia, netting his fourth goal in warm-up matches as his side battled to a 2-1 victory over Orijient on Saturday, reports www.totorinews.com.
Orijient struck first just four minutes before Lawal levelled matters in the 55th minute, showing his trademark strength and sharp instincts in the box. The former Mavlon FC forward proved a constant menace to Orijient’s defence, pressing high and linking play with relentless energy.
NK Istra turned the game around in the 73rd minute when Bangura found the net, and despite late pressure, Orijient couldn’t break through again before the final whistle.
In an added twist, the match also featured two more ex-Mavlon FC talents — Israel Ayuma and Charles Agada — making the friendly a showcase of the Nigerian academy’s growing European influence.
Lawal’s goal takes his pre-season tally to four, a promising sign for NK Istra ahead of the new Croatian league campaign.
