Kun Khalifat Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Anaemena, has expressed joy over the 'Pride Of Imolites' shock 1-0 win against his former club, Enyimba, in Sunday night's NPFL matchday 8 clash at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Ebuka Nwaokorie scored the decisive goal from a free kick near the edge of the area to hand the Coach Obinna Uzoho charges their first Oriental Derby win against the People's Elephant.

It wa Kun Khalifat's second win of the season and Anaemena, a former Super Eagles defender and 2024/2025 NPFL title winning member of Remo Stars said he was proud of his players.

"It was a difficult game and we gave it our best. I'm happy that we won against my former team, Enyimba, and I'm proud of my players", a visibly delighted Anaemena began after the game.

"It was a massive one for me and the team. For sure this is going to give a big boost the team going forward", Anaemena, who has won the NPFL title three times in the past added.

Kun Khalifat are now 17th on the league table with eight (8) points after eight matches. They will travel to Bayelsa United for this weekend's matchday 9 fixture.
