One farmer for Kebbi State, Kabiru Kamba, don become hero after he rescue one newborn baby girl wey dem bury alive for him farm wey dey Kamba town, inside Dandi Local Government Area.

 

As Technical Working Group (TWG) on Gender-Based Violence visit am for him house on Monday, Kamba talk how the miracle happen last Friday.

 

“I just dey work for farm when I notice say one part of the ground no resemble others. E be like say dem recently dig am,” he talk. “Na so I stop some okada people wey dey pass make dem help me dig.”

 

Wetin start like normal farm work quickly turn to one life-saving mission. As dem dig, dem see one wrapper wey dem bury under the sand, and e raise suspicion. Kabiru quickly call police.

 

“Na so police come, dig deeper and na there dem see the baby girl — still dey breathe and dey cry, but wrapped inside cloth,” Kamba narrate.

 

Out of love and human feeling, Kamba carry the baby go him house immediately.

 

“For this kind situation, you no suppose wait. I know say na my duty to care for her,” he talk.

Dandi Local Government Council later hand over the baby to am officially, as police dey investigate who do the evil act.

 

Funny enough, Kamba wife sef just born recently, so e easy for them to take care of the baby. The family don even plan naming ceremony for Wednesday.

 

“By Allah grace, we go name her that day. I don already buy ram and other things for the ceremony,” Kamba talk proudly.

 

Him wife join talk say she happy as the baby enter their home:

 

“When my husband tell me, I happy well well. I go take care of her like na my own born her,” she talk.

 

The leader of TWG delegation, Hajiya Rafa’atu Hammani, wey be former Permanent Secretary for State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, praise Kamba for him courage and good heart.

 

“This na big example of kindness. We go carry this matter go tell the Governor wife, Hajiya Zainab-Nasare Idris,” she talk, and promise say dem go still support the family and continue investigation.

 

Police don already begin find who bury the baby alive. But for now, because of one farmer wey get sharp eye and kind heart, the small baby don get another chance to live.
