Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw has responded sharply to a critic who urged her to "do more" for Nigeria, making it clear she won't justify her contributions.

On October 1, 2024, Independence Day, an X user shared a picture and video of Henshaw in her green and white outfit, calling on her to join the fight against corruption.

The critic wrote, "We must collectively fight corruption, insecurity, and injustice... The giant of Africa is rich with resources, but citizens are poorest."

Henshaw replied sarcastically, "Toh. I shouldn't smile or wear clothes naaaa."

Directly addressing the critic, she stated, "Your compliment leaves me wondering if you think I'm the problem. I won't prove my contributions to you. You have 'rulers' whose job description they've yet to fulfill."

Henshaw reposted a tweet supporting her stance: "Nigerians would rather attack everything else than the root problem... Complaining is our hobby and national pastime."
