15-year-old goalkeeper Anis Onyekachukwu Onyemaechi is setting his sights on securing a spot in the Golden Eaglets team for the upcoming WAFU B U17 tournament. Onyemaechi recently led SKF Nigerian Eagles to victory in the Gothia Cup U16 category in Sweden.

At the Gothia Cup, Onyemaechi played a crucial role in his team's success, helping SKF Nigerian Eagles win nine matches en route to the championship title. The talented goalkeeper has been showcasing flashes of brilliance in training sessions with the Golden Eaglets, aiming to convince the coaching staff to include him in the team for the WAFU B U17 tournament.

Upon returning to Nigeria from Sweden, Onyemaechi continued his goalkeeping exploits with Chrisland School's football team at the DOA football annual tournament. His school emerged champions in the tournament.


Onyemaechi, an SS 2 student at Chrisland High School, Ikeja in Lagos and a product of Unique Soccer Academy, Lagos, has demonstrated strength of character and strong agility between the sticks. With the qualities he has shown, there's no doubt the teenage goalkeeper has a bright future in football if he remains focused and steadfast.
