A host of national and international football legends have began to queue up strongly behind the upcoming second edition of the annual Babatem/Anambra FA All Stars Competition in an incredible show of solidarity and acceptance.

Exclusivenews.com.ng checks reveal that lead the rush for endorsement of the competition is Nwankwo Kanu, a former Super Eagles Captain and also Captain of the Nigeria U23 Dream Team that won the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games men's football event gold medal.

Kanu, a former UEFA Champions League winner with Ajax Amsterdam, an ex Arsenal leggy forward and FIFA/UNICEF Ambassador spoke on the sidelines of the gathering of ex-Heartland FC players in Owerri on Thursday, 24 May, 2024.

"I'm ready. I don't know if you're ready for the Babatem Anambra All Stars Competition in Anambra", 'Papilo began before charging others to as well be part of the 'veterans football festival'.

"Don't miss it. It's going to be great. It's going to be fun. All of us are going to be there.

Similarly, the All Stars Competition has began to attract international attention, recognition and acceptance with former Indomitable power-shooting goal machine, Patrick Mboma throwing his full weight behind the competition.

"I'm Patrick Mboma, former player, Cameroon National Team, the Indomitable Lions", Mboma began in a short video. 

"It's just to let you know that I support the up coming Anambra All Stars Game sponsored by Babatem and organised by my friend 'General' Chikelue Iloenyosi, Chairman Anambra State Football Association. 

"I commend this initiative and wish good luck and best regards to all the legends that will be coming to play for the game. We're together".

At the last count, checks reveal that no fewer than 13 All Stars Clubs across the state have confirmed their participation in the competition which has a giant silver trophy and N1m as star prize.
