Jigawa State Police Command don arrest one newly married woman over allegation say she poison her husband, wey later die after e chop food wey she cook.

 

Police Public Relations Officer for the state, SP Shi’isu Adam, confirm the matter for statement wey dem give journalists for Dutse on Saturday. According to am, the man chop im lunch for house before e suddenly fall sick.

 

Adam talk say dem rush the man go hospital sharp sharp for treatment, but doctors later confirm say e don die while dem dey try save am.

 

After the incident, detectives from Jahun Division begin investigation, wey lead to the arrest of the man wife as the main suspect for the case.

 

Police spokesperson explain say during interrogation, the woman allegedly confess say she put rat poison inside her husband food. She also claim say na her cousin she send go buy the rat poison wey dem use.

 

According to police, the suspect tell investigators say her parents force am enter the marriage, and say that situation affect her actions.

 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police for Jigawa State don order make dem transfer the case go State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for Dutse, so dem go do proper and detailed investigation.

 

Police say dem go charge the suspect to court immediately investigation finish.

 

The command also beg people for the state make dem remain calm and law-abiding, and encourage everybody make dem use legal and peaceful way settle marriage and family problems.

 

Dem warn say anybody wey take law enter im hand fit cause wahala wey no get solution later. Police also assure residents say dem dey committed to justice and protection of life and property across the state. The suspect still dey police custody as investigation continue.
