The streets of Abidjan the capital of Ivory Coast was overtaken by protesters who are protesting the ouster of the Elephants of Ivory Coast in the ongoing African Cup of Nations hosted by the country.

Ivorian trooped to the streets after the blast of the whistle of the second round matches of Group B trapping many foreign football fans in the stadium.

Ivory Coast lost 0-4 to the National Thunders of Equatorial Guinea in their last Group A game played on Monday. That was near their biggest loss ever to Netherlands 0-5 on 4th June 2017.

She lost by a lone goal to archrivals, Nigeria in the second group game.

The former African champions placed 3rd in the group and may still qualify as a lucky loser with their 3 points on the 3rd position of group A.

Ivory Coast police threw tear gas to disperse the protesters  caused collateral damage by damaging any object in site.

The official bus of the host players who stayed back after their match was terribly destroyed but a reinforcement from the Police took the players into safety.

An official statement has not been issued by CAF but the organisers may take punitive measures against Ivory Coast.

A top football Administrator on ground told Patmos Media Line the competition may be evacuated to another country on emergency if the trouble persists.
