Espérance sportive Registers Onuche Ogbelu For CAF Champions League Group Stage
Esperance of Tunisia has registered Nigeria’s former Flying Eagles star Onuche Ogbelu for the group stage of the African Champions League.
Ogbelu who is a product of Fosla Academy, Karshi Abuja, and had a stint with Nasarawa United. He was an integral member of the Fosla Academy team that won the rejuvenated National Principals Cup in 2021.
He was part of the Flying Eagles team in the 2023 U20 African Cup of Nations under coach Ladan Bosso, where he featured in all the matches. He was however dropped unceremoniously before the U20 World Cup in Argentina.
Onuche joined the former African champions in the first week of October 2023, and immediately became a regular in team that played in the Africa Football League before Esperance were eliminated by Wydad of Casablanca at the Semifinals.
Esperance has decided to register the 20 years old Nigerian midfielder captured this summer for the group stage games that will start later in November.
He was registered alongside other players including Kepa Sowe, Rodrigo Rodriguez, and Ghaylen Chaaleli.
Ogbelu will be available for selection for the day-one game against Etoile Du Sahel.
