Dannaz Ladies Football Club forward Isiaka Olamide Saidat has shared the challenges she faced while balancing her academic pursuits with her passion for football. The Lagos State University (LASU) graduate, with a degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering, revealed how she managed to excel in both fields through dedication and effective time management.

Olamide’s journey stands out as an inspiring story of perseverance. Reflecting on her undergraduate years, she explained how she navigated the demands of both academics and athletics.

“Balancing academics with football during my undergraduate years required effective time management and dedication. I prioritized my studies while committing to training and matches, using breaks in my academic schedule to fit in practice sessions,” Olamide told NAIRA SPORTS.

Her efforts paid off, as she played a pivotal role in the Lagos University female football team that clinched the gold medal at the Africa University Games last year.

Olamide’s love for football extends beyond just playing; it brings her immense joy and fulfillment.

“The happiness I derive from playing football is amazing. Scoring a goal is a truly special experience,” she said.

She also credited her parents as a source of motivation, acknowledging their support in her football journey.

Now a key player for Dannaz Ladies, Olamide has already featured in the team’s opening matches for the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season. Determined to make a significant impact, she is optimistic about contributing to her team’s success.

Her story of balancing academics with sports serves as an inspiration to young athletes striving to excel in multiple areas of life. As she embarks on her professional career, her passion, dedication, and support system promise to drive her forward.
