The word "Conspiracy" as defined by the Longman contemporary English dictionary, means a secret plan by two or more people to do something that is harmful or illegal to a person or group of persons.

The 2023/2024 NPFL season has so far been an interesting one, but it's a shame how the organizers of the league have chosen to conspire within themselves to truncate the ambitions of Enyimba FC from successfully defending the league title.

In an earlier fixture during the season between Enyimba FC and Doma United, The People's Elephants clearly scored a late goal against the visitors, after much arguments the goal stood but for reasons best known to the league organizers Enyimba were asked to pay a fine and had to play their next three home games behind closed doors and even had two points deducted from them.

Now a similar and indeed was more violent incident has occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu against Enugu Rangers, an incident that even saw lots of Enyimba FC players and fans beaten and battered but the league organizers in an now usual  bias manner decided to sanction the People's Elephants with a heavy punishment and the three points at stake in the game awarded to Rangers alongside three goals.

 

I ask is the league organizers not practicing double standard?  It is obviously looking like the league organizers deliberately do not want Enyimba FC to successfully defend the league title. It’s so obvious that a lot of people in Nigerian football have one or two things against Enyimba,
The swiftness in dishing out hefty punishments on Enyimba FC is  unacceptable. 

Taking a proper look at the events and on field actions that occurred before penalty incident, a good and unbiased referee would have called for an offside and issued a yellow card to the offending player but instead he chose to manufacture  a penalty just to dance to the tune of his sponsors.

The melee that occurred at the end of the fixed, the NPFL organizers for reasons best known to them have chosen to punish Enyimba FC and turn a blind eye and deaf ears to the fact that Enyimba FC players and fans were brutality harassed at the end of the game.

Please I demand that the harassment and obvious conspiracy against Enyimba FC should, the game should be allowed to flow freely and happily because it is "Jogo bonito" the beautiful game.
