The 3rd edition of the annual Judith Chime Championship will come to a fitting close Saturday December 21 at the CIC field, Enugu with defending champions, Imo Strikers Queens slugging it out with Green Foot Academy in the grand finale, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

To reach the final, Green Foot, who are the tournament's leading scorers with 17 goals in five matches, defeated Immaculate Queens 1-0 in their first semi final match following Amarachi Ohiaeri's first half headed goal from Chisom Oluchukwu's Cross.

On the other hand, Imo Strikers Queens humbled Solo Wonders 4-1 in the second semi final five-goal thriller.

Osinachi Ugbala opened the scoring for the title holders Mmesoma Amaechi doubling their lead lead before the half time.

Ogolo Charis halved the deficit for Solo Wonders midway into the second period but Nkwocha Precious restored Imo Strikers Queens two-goal cushion before Chiamaka Damian put the game beyond Solo Wonders redemption with the fourth goal.

Imo Strikers Queens could have their hands full in today's final especially on how to contain the free scoring Anastesia Uzor, who's emerged the tournament's leading scorer with 10 goals so far.

Nelly Orisakwe, Coach of Imo Strikers Queens waxed a philosophical lyrics when asked her chances of retaining the Judith Chime Championship crown which they won last year in Asaba, Delta State.

"The target of any team going into a competition is to win. But in the end, its God that determines the ultimate winner.

"As a team, its our duty to make the effort by playing well and pray to God to ensure that we become the ones to win.

"One interesting thing is that this team has continued to improve game after game. Our first two games were not as good as the quarter final game and today, you can see more improvement in our team's performance", Orisakwe said.

Green Foot head coach, Favour Aneke, said the title is theirs this time around.

"We hope to win. We want the trophy to remain here in Enugu and we've the quality to make it happen.

"It's going to be a difficult game against Imo Strikers Queens but we hope to win the trophy", he sounded.
