Nelly Orisakwe, head coach of Imo Strikers FC says she was not happy with her players performance in Mondays 2-0 win over Rising Stars of Ojoto, Anambra State, in their opening fixture of the 2024 Judith Chime Championship currently going on in Enugu, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Miracle Walter scored both goals in the first half, first from a penalty before an exquisite strike of extraordinary quality from outside the box to double the title holders advantage.

Thereafter, they became too wasteful in front of goal, throwing away scoring chances as they came.

After the final whistle, Orisakwe cast a forlon picture despite the victory.

"I'm not happy", she said. "Yes, we won but this performance is far from our usual performance and its unlike us.

"Besides, we're too wasteful in front of goal. How could we throw away such scoring opportunities?

"This is a game we should have scored five, six or even seven goals. It's not as if the chances didn't come. But we throw them away as they come".

Coach Orisakwe was philosophical when asked if her team could successfully defend their title.

"That's in the hands of God", she responded softly.

"We're are here to participate. It's God that decides the ultimate winner. But of course, we would want to win and that's why we're here", the soft speaking gaffer said.
