Chikelue Iloenyosi, a former Super Eagles defender and incumbent Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, has penned an emotional congratulatory message to Alhaji Shehu Dikko, on his appointment as the Chairman of the newly created National Sports Commission, NSC, Exclusivenews com ng reports.

Sikko, former Chairman of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, and Second Vice President of the,NFF, was on Wednesday appointed by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as Chairman of the newly created National Sports Commission, NSC.

Iloenyosi, who had during his illustrious playing career that saw him feature for Nigeria at the U23 and senior National Teams at both the Nations Cup, AFCON, Olympics and World Cup levels, described Dikko's appointment as 'round peg in Round hole'.

"I most heartily congratulate my friend and brother, Alhaji Shehu Dikko, on his appointment as Chairman of the National Sports Commission NSC", Iloenyosi wrote.

"I think his coming at this point in time to steer the ship of the nation's Sports is a right step in the right direction", Iloenyosi wrote.

"He's coming to the headship of the nation's Sports on the back of a rich experience as the former Chairman of the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL.

"It's a pointer that he's bringing a huge experience that will usher in massive improvement and positive results for the nation at continental and global sports meets.

"I, on behalf of the Anambra State Football Association, and all Football stakeholders in the South East as well as Nigeria in general, wish him a successful and result-filled tenure", Iloenyosi wrote.

He went to congratulate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for for spotting the sterling qualities of Dikko and giving him opportunity to transform the Nation's Sports Sector.

"It goes to show the kind of President we have, a President who puts eyes in clean waters to spot the talents that abound in the country and ensuring they put to ultimate level by giving them roles in their real areas of specialisation", Iloenyosi stressed.
