Ikukuoma Feeders FC of Mbaise has emerged victorious in the inaugural edition of the Chief Okpotemba Mini Youth Football League, held in Isiwenke, Imo State.

 

The tournament, sponsored by Chief Cheta Ojukwu, saw Ikukuoma dominate the competition, securing maximum points to claim the title. They defeated Campos Feeders FC 2-1, Okpotemba FC 2-0, and Abia Warriors Feeders 1-0.

 

Campos FC finished second with four points after a 1-0 win over Okpotemba FC, a goalless draw with Abia Warriors Feeders, and a 2-1 loss to Ikukuoma. The host team, Okpotemba FC, ended in third place with three points, following a 3-0 victory against Abia Warriors Feeders but suffering defeats to Campos (1-0) and Ikukuoma (2-0). Abia Warriors Feeders finished last, managing only a draw against Campos and losing their other matches.

 

Chief Cheta Ojukwu (Okpotemba) expressed his delight at the tournament’s outcome, praising the teams’ discipline and skill. He reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots football development and commended the Organizing Committee, led by President Ngwaogu “Odogwu,” for successfully executing the event in a short time.

 

Ikukuoma Feeders FC received a cash prize and a trophy, while all participating teams were awarded appearance fees.
