With his signature dreadlocks and commanding presence on the field, Ifeanyi Assurance is making a name for himself as Lobi Stars’ midfield powerhouse in the current Nigeria Premier Football League season. Known for his impressive ball control, relentless energy, and sharp field vision, Assurance has quickly become central to Lobi Stars’ recent resurgence, notching up two goals and two assists so far.

Born in Aba, Abia State, Assurance is the engine behind Lobi’s play, orchestrating their movements with precise passes and tactical awareness. A product of the Abia Greater Tomorrow Football Academy, Assurance trained under some of Nigeria’s finest, including Uche Okechukwu (former Super Eagles captain), Emeka Ifejiagwa, and Emeka Uche—legends who helped shape his dynamic playing style.

His career path has been one of steady ascent. After leaving Abia Greater Tomorrow Academy, he made an impact at Dakkada Football Club in Uyo, becoming a key player in their Premier League efforts. His journey then took him to Bayelsa United, and ultimately to Lobi Stars in Makurdi, where he has solidified his reputation as an indispensable force in midfield for the “Yes Father” squad.

Assurance is a versatile and skilled playmaker. His strength and physicality allow him to control the tempo, while his vision enables him to spot scoring opportunities and execute them with precision. Comfortable in various roles, he’s equally effective as a defensive midfielder, winger, or supporting striker—a role he frequently filled at Dakkada FC.

One of Assurance’s standout attributes is his fierce determination and winning mindset, which he communicates through his leadership on the field, directing teammates with passion and focus. Though a natural left-footer, he also wields his right foot with ease, adapting to tight situations and delivering accurate passes under pressure.

His recent call-up to the Super Eagles Team B (CHAN Eagles) by head coach Augustine Eguavoen speaks volumes about his impact and potential. The invitation is a testament to Assurance’s talent and hard work, as he earned this recognition purely on merit.

As the 2024/2025 NPFL season intensifies, Lobi Stars will be counting on Ifeanyi Assurance to stay fit and continue his influential performances, as their season ambitions are tied to his continued excellence.
