Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has fulfilled his promise to settle outstanding salary debts owed to workers in state-owned institutions, inherited from previous administrations.
The total payment of N17,629,767,342.09 will be made in 12 monthly installments, ensuring minimal disruption to other governance areas. Verified workers in the following institutions will benefit:
1. Abia State University Uturu
2. Abia State Polytechnic, Aba
3. Abia State College of Education, Technical Arochukwu
4. Abia State Teaching Hospital, Aba
5. Health Management Board, Umuahia
6. College of Health Sciences, Aba
7. Abia State Universal Basic Education Board
8. Secondary Education Management Board
The first installment has already been disbursed. Governor Otti's administration prioritizes civil servants' welfare, addressing the long-standing issue of unpaid wages left by the previous administration.
