 Fans were treated to a thrilling weekend of grassroots football as Matchday 4 of the 20th edition of the Gwagwalada Football League delivered a mix of goals, surprises, and tight contests across two venues: Government Day Secondary School and the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.

 

A total of nine matches were played, with several teams showing serious intent in the race for early dominance.

 

At the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Sheikhandam FC and FC 20 served up one of the most dramatic encounters of the weekend — a four goal thriller that ended 4-0 in favor of Sheikhandam FC. In another standout performance, Abu Dabi FC had a commanding form with a  3-0 victory over ECN Academy.

 

Daniel Academy also impressed, defeating Soccer Talents 2-0, while Inspirational Sports FC overcame Ejanla FC with a 4-2 win in a high-scoring affair.

 

Over at Government Day Secondary School, defenses dominated in two goalless draws — Young Stars FC vs Dukpa United and Cottage FC vs Netshakers FC. Meanwhile, Medical Feeders edged Sky FC 2-1, showcasing their growing momentum in the league.

 

Elsewhere, Riverside FC shared points with Ejiwumi FC in a 2-2 draw, and Golden Boys vs Babayaro FC ended in a thrilling 3-3 stalemate.

According to the Chairman of Organizing Committee Patrick Ngwaogu, with Matchday 5 approaching, teams will look to build momentum as the league table begins to take shape. He said that football fans in Gwagwalada can expect another action-packed weekend filled with passion, flair, and the raw energy of local football at its best.
