It was a parade of football dignitaries as the 2025 Nationwide League One (NLO) U19 Youth League kicked off in grand style at the Nyanya Playing Pitch in Abuja.

The opening fixture between G-Medix and Olympic Hybrid drew an impressive turnout from the hierarchy of the FCT Football Association. Leading the delegation was the association’s Vice Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Kolo, accompanied by prominent board members Babatunde Akintade (popularly known as Bocknor), who performed the ceremonial kickoff on behalf of NLO Chairman Silas Agara, as well as Patrick Bassey, Samuel Abimbola, and Ngozi Ezeh.

The action on the pitch matched the buzz off it. G-Medix wasted no time making their mark, with Isaac Udeji finding the back of the net just one minute after kickoff. Kasali Mubarak doubled the advantage before Udeji grabbed his second goal in the 33rd minute, giving G-Medix a commanding 3–0 lead at halftime.

Olympic Hybrid’s attempts at a comeback were swiftly shut down as G-Medix extended their dominance in the second half, striking again in the 67th and 89th minutes to seal a resounding 5–0 victory.

The emphatic win, coupled with the show of support from football administrators, set a vibrant tone for what promises to be a thrilling NLO U19 season in the FCT.
