A group known as the Concerned Football Fans Association of Nigeria (CFFAN) on Sunday held a solidarity procession at The Enyimba International Stadium Aba during the NPFL week 29 fixture between Heartland FC and Sporting Lagos FC, in support of Emmanuel Amuneke's bid to emerge as the new chief Coach of the Super Eagles.
Speaking to the media after the procession the convener of the movement and President of CFFAN Mr Smart Obinna Christopher described Coach Emmanuel Amuneke as the right man for the Eagles job "Coach Emma Amuneke has proven himself over the years as the right man to lead The Super Eagles to glory land, he has proven himself at the age grade level, winning the FIFA under 17 World Cup in 2013 and 2015 as an assistant coach and chief Coach respectively, he broke a 39 year old jinx for Tanzania by taking them to the African Cup Of Nations in 2019, he has coached some high-profile teams in Egypt, Sudan and Zambia. He is the right man for the job, that's why we advocate that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) offers him the job alongside Coach Finidi George as his assistant".
Some members of the CFFAN were seen around the stadium vicinity holding placards and singing solidarity songs in support of Coach Amuneke, some of the write-ups reads, Amuneke the right man for the Eagles job, Give us Amuneke, Amuneke won the under-17 world cup twice for Nigeria, Amuneke shares the same football philosophy as Pep Guardiola e.t.c.
President of CFFAN Mr Christopher revealed that the group will take the next phase of their procession to Abuja this week.
