Giant Empress on Saturday saw off hosts, Delta Babes, 5-4 on penalty kicks to book their place in the 2023 edition of the Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup Championship, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

After a full time goaless draw, both sides went into the ltie-breaking kicks to decide who gets the bragging right for Sunday's final showdown.

Delta Babes, who had on Friday secured their semi final berth from the spot kicks following a 5-3 win over Phoenix, appeared more confident on the spots as they did the previous day but they ouldnt be a second time lucky.

Giant Empress win came against all permutations and have now set up an Oriental Derby final against free scoring Imo Strikers.

The Abia State Ambassadors will have a date with Chidi Harmony who has set a tournament record of 10 goals in five games here. Harmony's twin terror,, Oscar Precious, will be another bone in the neck for Giant Empress backline to swallow or regurgitate.

Overall, Sunday's final will be one worth the pounds for the fans and a fitting climax to an enthralling championship.
