The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has officially resumed duties in Abuja after a brief period of absence due to health-related reasons.

 

Earlier reports from Sahara Reporters had indicated that the minister was unwell, a development later confirmed by the presidency, which described Edun as “indisposed” at the time. However, fresh updates now confirm that Mr. Edun is back in the country and has returned to his official responsibilities.

 

The minister was recently seen at a business event hosted by a government corporation, part of ongoing strategic engagements with an international delegation seeking investment opportunities in Nigeria.

 

In a video posted on X by President Bola Tinubu’s spokesman, Sunday Dare, Mr. Edun was captured interacting with guests at an art gallery exhibition held alongside the investment discussions. The post was captioned: “Minister Wale Edun. Today. Art Gallery.”

 

Speaking in the video, Edun dismissed speculations about his health, stating:

 

“I got a few days off to rest. I can’t stay long in the house, so I’m coming to enjoy this beautiful exhibition.”

 

He also expressed his admiration for the showcase of Nigerian creativity, adding:

 

“I’m happy to see Nigerian artists on display, telling their story to the world.”

 

The minister’s appearance and remarks appear to signal a return to full capacity as he resumes key economic engagements amid Nigeria’s ongoing fiscal and investment reforms.
