FEC Approves ₦159.5 Billion for Major Infrastructure Projects in FCT

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved ₦159.5 billion for five key infrastructure projects aimed at improving road networks and transportation within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Minister of State for the FCT, Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, announced the approvals after the FEC meeting chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday.

The projects include:

    •    Mabushi Bus Terminal – Awarded to Setraco Nigeria Limited for ₦30.97 billion, expected to be completed in 18 months.
    •    Arterial Road N1 (Wuye District to Ring Road II) – Contracted to Arab Contractors Nigeria Limited for ₦62.5 billion, with a 20-month completion timeline.
    •    Kuje-Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway – Approved for ₦7.5 billion, awarded to Gilmo Engineering Nigeria Limited.
    •    Rehabilitation of Old Keffi Road (15km stretch from Kado Village to Dei-Dei) – Valued at ₦26.87 billion, awarded to Lubric Construction Company Limited, with an 18-month completion period.
    •    Access Road to Renewed Hope Cities and Estate Project in Karsana West District – Approved for ₦31.66 billion, also awarded to Lubric Construction Company Limited, to be completed in 18 months.

Bunkure emphasized that these projects will enhance urban mobility, improve connectivity between key districts and satellite towns, and boost socio-economic activities in the FCT. She assured that the government will closely monitor implementation to ensure quality and timely completion.
