Kun Khalifat Coach, Obinna Uzoho Blames 'Early Goal' For Huge Defeat As Warri Wolves Win Big To Restore NPFL Return Hope

Kun Khalifat Head Coach, Obinna Uzoho, blamed his team's embarrassing 3-0 defeat by Warri Wolves in the matchday two fixture of the 2025 NNL play-offs in Asaba on the early Goal they conceded, Exclusivenews.com reports.

Ebhoho Jude handed the Seasiders an early lead just five minutes after kick off, a goal that unsettled the 'The Pride ofImolites'.

Ebhoho was to double Wolves advantage five minutes before the break after converting a penalty that resulted from the goalkeeper hauling down a goal-bound attacker. It was Ebhoho's second goal on the night and the first player to grab a brace in the tournament.

Okiemute Akporaye put the game beyond the 'Red Army' seven minutes past the hour mark (67 min) as Warri Wolves ran to a comfortable 3-0 win despite being reduced to 10 men late on.

Wolves who lost their opening game to Osun United 1-0 wow has three points, same as Kun Khalifat, going into the final match of the play-offs against Crown who has one point following a one-all draw versus group leaders, Osun United, who has four points.

Coach Uzoho told reporters after the game that the early goal they conceded unsettled his players even as he remains optimistic they still have their promotion destiny right in their own hands.

"It's unfortunate that we lost. Its also sad that we lost by such a wide margin (3-0). Its due to the early goal that we conceded. It unsettled the team", Uzoho lamented.

"However, I believe we can still win the last match which is against Osun United. Once we do that, then, our NPFL promotion becomes certain", the young tactician said in a discomfort tone.
