The group stage of the Jagaban Cup delivered an exciting round of fixtures as four matches produced just three goals, with defending champions SGFC Athletics suffering an early exit from the tournament. All games were played at the Legacy Pitch on Friday morning.

In the opening fixture, SGFC Athletics were knocked out after a narrow 0-1 defeat to FC Bethel. Tijani Ridwan scored the decisive goal, finding the bottom right corner to seal victory.

Mavlon FC also secured a slim 1-0 win over Smart City, with Ifeanyi Onyene striking in the 40th minute to hand his side all three points.

The encounter between Klassisc FC and 36 Lion ended goalless, as both teams failed to convert their chances in a tightly contested match.

In the final game of the day, Broad City edged Ikorodu City 1-0, with Emmanuel Udeogu scoring the only goal to clinch victory.
