Olopade, who is also the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the upcoming Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U18 and U20 Championships in Abeokuta, emphasized that no correspondence regarding a nationality change has been received by the NSC or the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN). "Favour Ofili is still a Nigerian athlete," Olopade declared at a World Press Conference. "She has expressed her willingness to continue serving the country. She was among the 69 Foreign based athletes that have received their 2025 Training grant."
