Exciting TotalEnergies CAF CHAN Draw Delivers Thrilling Encounters
The draw for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania 2024 took place in Nairobi, Kenya, on January 15, setting the stage for an exciting tournament in August 2025.
Hosts Kenya were drawn in Group A alongside two-time winners Morocco and DR Congo, as well as Angola and Zambia. Tanzania, also hosts, will face Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and Central African Republic in Group B.
Uganda, the third host nation, will meet Niger, Guinea, and two yet-to-be-determined qualifiers in Group C. Defending champions Senegal headline Group D, which also features Congo, Sudan, and Nigeria.
The draw ceremony, held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, featured East African football legends Hassan Wasswa, Mrisho Ngasa, and McDonald Mariga.
The TotalEnergies CHAN showcases the talents of homegrown players, with only those plying their trade in domestic leagues eligible to participate. The tournament has had seven previous editions, with Morocco, DR Congo, Tunisia, Libya, and Senegal sharing the titles.
