The 14th edition of the Engineer Ikenna Okonkwo  sponsored   Igbo-Ukwu Integrated  Secondary School  Sports Festival is up and running, with at least 10 post-primary schools in the area taking part. 

The annual fiesta, which is one of its kind began on Thursday, October 16, 2025 and is expected to run through to Saturday, November 29, 2025 when the finals of the various events are billed to hold. 

Sponsor of the annual competition, and an environmentalist, Engr. Ikenna Okonkwo told Sports Day in an exclusive chat, that "this is the token support I give for the development of youths in the ancient city of Igbo-Ukwu, and beyond, in Aguata LGA of Anambra State, Nigeria, and have done so with conviction for 14 years, now".

The ten schools taking part in the 2025 competition are all coeducational except Girls Secondary School Igbo-Ukwu that is wholly and exclusively, a Girls school.

1. Igbo-Ukwu Boys Secondary School - Government School 
2. Girls Secondary School Igbo-Ukwu - Government School 
3. Holy Family Secondary School Igbo-Ukwu - Mission School 
4. Christ de King Secondary School Igbo-Ukwu - Mission School 
5. Unique Secondary School Igbo-Ukwu - Private School 
6. Community Secondary School Isuofia - Government School 
7. Holy Child of Jesus Secondary School Isuofia - Mission School 
8. Community Secondary School Oraeri - Government School 
9. St Anthony's Secondary School Ikenga - Mission School. 
10. Our Savior Secondary School Igbo-Ukwu - Private School.

Events featuring in this year's edition are football and athletics, which are being played at Holy Trinity Play field Igbo-Ukwu; and Volleyball which is played at the Central School Volleyball Court also in Igbo-Ukwu. 

The opening football match saw Holy Family Sec Sch. Igbo-ukwu lose 0-1 to Unique Sec Sch, Isuofia, in an actioned-packed encounter in which both sides missed plethora of goal scoring opportunities, before header nodded-in the only goal, for Unique Sec Sch Isuofia, who edged the opener graced by a detachment of medics, from the Red Cross 1-Nil. 

The medics have also been engaged for the entire duration of the fiesta, and shall be at all venues of games to handle medical emergencies, if any.
