Edo Queens, the champions of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, have officially bid farewell to their captain, Suliat Olajumoke Abideen, following her transfer to Turkey.

Abideen captained the Benin City team to its first-ever NWFL Premiership title earlier this year and led them to victory in the 2024 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League in Côte d’Ivoire. During her time with Edo Queens, she helped the club secure four titles, including the Sheroes Cup and the Betsy Obaseki Cup, and was named Player of the Tournament for each.

In a heartfelt message on social media, Edo Queens praised Abideen’s contributions: “Today, we say goodbye to not only a brilliant player but also a remarkable leader and icon of Edo Queens FC. With every game, Suliat demonstrated unmatched commitment, grit, and passion. Her exceptional skill and presence on the field brought immense pride and numerous accolades to our club, including the unforgettable winning goal in the WAFU Zone B final.
