The management of Edel FC, a Nigeria National League,  side, has told Exclusivenews.com.ng that they will 'soon' name a new Coach that will drive their new season's ambition following the departure of former gaffer, Sylvanus 'Quick Silver' Okpalla.

Okpalla, a former Flying Eagles Captain and Super Eagles 1980 AFCON title winner joined the club during the mid season of the 2024/2025 campaign with the club on five points.

Okpalla successfully steered the club to safety before stepping down from his role. And with the 2025/2026 campaign billed to get underway in November, Edel FC hierarchy has made it clear Okpalla's replacement will be announced in no distant time.

"I'll say we're ready for the new season. We're hoping for a better outing in the coming season", Micky Chukwubuike, Team Manager of the club said to Exclusivenews.com.ng on Thursday.

"We've drawn a lot positive lessons from our last season's campaign. So we're working hard to ensure we got it right this time around.

"The owner of the club has made sure that everything we needed for a successful preseason was provided.

"But I must say that Edel FC is not yet a 'finished product'. We'll ensure that do better as the season progresses".

Draws for the season we're made in Kaduna on Tuesday after the 15th Annual General Meeting, AGM, of the NNL.

The draws saw Edel FC drawn in Conference A with an opening match against Sunshine Stars of Akure in at the Awka City Stadium.
