The semifinals of the ongoing ECN/Gwagwalada Coaches U17 Tournament will take place on Saturday at the Government Day Secondary School, Gwagwalada, Abuja.

 

The matches, scheduled to kick off at 2:00 p.m., promise exciting action as four top youth teams battle for places in the final.

 

In the first semifinal, ECN Global Academy will face Golden Boys. ECN Academy has been one of the standout teams of the tournament, scoring 11 goals in the preliminary stage without conceding any. They secured their semifinal spot with a 2–1 victory over Dukpa United. Golden Boys, on their part, edged past D-Royal with a 2–1 win to book their place in the last four.

 

The second semifinal will see Medical Feeders take on Desert Warriors Feeders in what is expected to be another closely contested encounter. Desert Warriors advanced after defeating Bocknor Academy 5–4 on penalties following a pulsating goalless draw in regulation time. Medical Feeders, meanwhile, eliminated defending champions Sensational Stars in a dramatic tie, winning 5–4 after a 2–2 draw at full time.

 

Winners of Saturday’s matches will clash in the grand final slated for Sunday, February 22.

 

Former National U20 Coach and President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Ladan Isah Bosso, is expected to grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour. The tournament continues to provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and gain exposure in competitive football.
