Promising young goalkeeper Isiaka Abdulrahul of the ECN U15 team has expressed his deep appreciation and excitement after participating in the second phase of the FIFA/NFF Talent Development Scheme (TDS), which recently concluded in Abuja.

The 14-year-old shot-stopper, who visited the ECN Global Corporate Office in Abuja to present a set of his camp jerseys to the Executive Director, Odogwu Patrick Ngwaogu, described the experience as a defining moment in his budding football career.

“It was not just a training camp, it was a life-changing experience,” Abdulrahul said. “It has left a lasting mark on my dream to become a great footballer. I’m truly grateful to the Nigeria Football Federation and FIFA for this opportunity.”

He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Gwagwalada Football Council and the Coaches Association for the platform they provided through various grassroots programs that led to his selection.

Welcoming the young goalkeeper to the ECN office, Executive Director Odogwu Patrick Ngwaogu praised Abdulrahul’s discipline and commitment. He urged him to remain focused, reminding him that talent alone is not enough without hard work and consistency.

“Stay humble, stay hungry,” Ngwaogu advised. “The journey to the top is tough, but with the right mindset, you’ll get there. We also urge the NFF to give this program the attention it deserves and ensure players like Abdulrahul eventually graduate to the national teams.”

The week-long TDS camp, a collaboration between FIFA and the Nigeria Football Federation, brought together some of Nigeria’s brightest youth football prospects. Under the supervision of Future Eagles Coach Patrick Bassey and other seasoned trainers, the players underwent intensive drills and mentoring sessions aimed at nurturing future national team stars.

As the curtains close on the camp, Isiaka Abdulrahul’s story stands as a testament to the power of opportunity and the impact of grassroots development on Nigerian football’s future.
