Draws Hold Friday As 26 Teams Queue Up For 2nd Edition Of Monifes/Anambra FA All Stars Competition

Draws for the second edition of the Monfes Pharmaceuticals/Anambra State All Stars Football Competition has been billed to hold on Friday, 23 May, 2025, at the State FA Corporate Headquarters, Awka, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
This is even as no fewer than 26 All Stars Clubs in the state have completed registration formalities for the 'veterans' tournament, exclusively reserved for retired players of 40 years and above.
Former Nigeria defender, Chikelue 'General' Iloenyosi, initiated the tournament on his assumption of office as Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA.
The tournament is aimed at providing a platform for retired players to exercise and reunite in a convivial atmosphere with a view to stimulating the young ones and encourage them as they embark on the tough but lucrative footballing careers.
This season, Monfes Pharmaceuticals Ltd, makers of FestDrine, is bankrolling the tournament with a winning prize of N1.5m for the overall winners with the runners-up smiling home with N700, 000. 00 just as the third place winner will be rewarded to the tune of N500, 000. 00.
Organisers also revealed that there will be individual awards for The Best Goalkeeper, Best Behaved Team, MVP, Highest Goal Scorer amongst others which carries a cash prize of N50, 000. 00 each.
"The draw will hold on Friday, May 23 at the Anambra FA Office, Udoka Housing Estate, Awka", organisers have said.
"As at the conclusion of the extended registration time, 26 all Stars teams have duly registered", organisers added.
