Chairman of the Badagry Divisional Football Association, Dr. Ozondu Martins, has shed light on the driving force behind his commitment to grassroots football and the impact he hopes to make through his sustained investment in youth development.

Speaking passionately, Dr. Ozondu stated that his primary motivation is to leave a lasting legacy by giving underprivileged children a renewed sense of hope through football.

"My biggest mission is to ensure that every child out there crying for lack of hope can find hope through football," he said.

Expanding on his vision, he added: "I want football to empower children, coaches, referees, and club owners. Ultimately, my goal is to use football as a tool to steer young people away from crime and social vices."

He acknowledged the challenges of working at the grassroots level, noting that it requires patience, consistency, and a long-term mindset. According to him, patience has been a vital pillar of his journey.

"One of the biggest things that has been my strength is patience. In all we do, we must be patient. With dedication and commitment, the results will come—and we must always strive to improve on what we’ve already achieved."
