Dr. Bode Durotoye Takes the Helm as Chairman of NAPHER-SD Abuja Branch

Dr. Bode Durotoye, renowned for his tenure as the former Director of Grassroots at the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, has ascended to the esteemed position of Chairman within the Nigeria Association of Physical Health Education Recreation, Dance & Sport (NAPHER-SD), specifically leading the Abuja branch. The culmination of this appointment transpired through an election held at the prominent venue of the media center within the Moshood Abiola Stadium, marking the commencement of a new era under his leadership.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Durotoye articulated his fervent dedication to fostering inclusivity within the association, acknowledging the modest turnout at the election while highlighting the untapped potential of members yet to fully engage with the organization. Reflecting on the nascent stage of the association's development, he reminisced about his pivotal role in coordinating its activities over the preceding two to three years. However, he expressed optimism in the burgeoning growth witnessed, noting the successful expansion of membership and the milestone achieved with the inaugural executive committee.
Looking ahead, Dr. Durotoye outlined an ambitious agenda aimed at galvanizing further participation among members and instilling a sense of duty towards the association and national bodies. Central to this vision is the preparation for the association's maiden national conference scheduled for September, a landmark event poised to showcase the collective progress and aspirations of its members.
The composition of the newly elected executive team underscores a diverse array of talents and expertise poised to propel the association towards its objectives. Dr. Odunola Bello and Ogundele assume roles as ex-officio members, bringing valuable insights and experience to the leadership cadre. Accompanying them are individuals such as Israel Nwang as Auditor, Robinson Okosun as PRO, Otumala Monica as Financial Secretary, Sheba Jefferson as Treasurer, Dr. Adebayo Agaka as Assistant Secretary-General, and Mohammed Maigidansama as Secretary. Additionally, the pivotal positions of 2nd and 1st Vice Chairmen are entrusted to Dr. Toyin Aluko and Dr. Ayo Abdul Rahman, respectively, with Dr. Bode Durotoye at the helm as Chairman, steering the association towards a future defined by excellence and inclusivity.
