The 2024 edition of the annual Provincial Football Competition came to a thrilling end Wednesday at the Awka City Stadium as Diocese on the Niger, DON, emerge as undisputed champions.

Chibuike Obura's exquisite second half strike separated  both sides as Diocese On the Niger, DON, represented by Bishop Owen Nwokolo Football Academy, BONFA, edged Awka Diocese 1-0 in the gritty final contest.

The tournament served as veritable selection ground for players that would form the team that will represent the Province in the Primate Competition later in the year.

A delighted Sir Victor Nwangwu, a former Rangers ace, ex Anambra FA Secretary and Coordinator of DON, was swept off his feet by joy as he made a personal donation of N100,000 to the players of the victorious team.
