Dannaz Ladies FC head coach, Fatai Bashiru, has opened up about how the team is adapting to players observing Ramadan fasting while maintaining their performance levels.

In an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng, Bashiru acknowledged the challenge but emphasized that fasting has not significantly affected the squad. “Yes, they are fasting, and we can’t stop them—it’s their religion. Even I, as the coach, am fasting as well. We are finding ways to manage it.”

Following a 3-0 home defeat to Nasarawa Amazons in their NWFL Premiership Week 9 clash, Bashiru admitted the team must improve tactically and technically to bounce back stronger.

Looking ahead, he reaffirmed the club’s goal of retaining their Premiership status while focusing on player development. “Our priority as a modest club is grooming players from the grassroots and giving them exposure,” he said, highlighting the team’s commitment to advancing young talents in women’s football.
