Cynosure Football Club of Abakaliki have appealed to the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation to quash to sanctions imposed on the club following their proted against an alleged 'match fixing involving Liberty FC and E-World during NLO playoffs at Calabar Center, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The NLO Secretariat had fined Cynosure N500, 000. 00, slammed a six month suspension on the club's Chairman for allegedly falsely raising match compromise allegation capable of bringing Nigeria Football to disrepute.

Cynosure had raised concerns why a team that had honoured her previous six games could honour its last match with only seven players without any justifiable reason like force majeur.

They also quarried why a club could give change of match time as reason their players were not all available even in the middle of a competition, saying that change of time was earlier communicated to all.

"The Committee's ruling on an alleged match-fixing involving Liberty Lions FC and E-World has been widely criticised as a miscarriage of justice...", Cynosure maintained.

"The NLO Disciplinary Committee's conclusion that Cynosure FC deliberately committed an act to bring Football in Nigeria to disrepute by raising allegation of match-fixing without concrete evidence has been met with skepticism".

The club 'strongly' objected to the Disciplinary Committee's decisions of the NLO as regards the conduct of the match between Liberty Lions and E-World FC, saying they are disappointed, disillusioned and strongly rejects the NLO Disciplinary Committee verdict.

Cynosure FC further informed the NFF Disciplinary Committee that the sanctions imposed on it by the NLO Disciplinary Committee are not only severe but also sets a dangerous precedent that could stiffle future reporting of genuine concerns about match integrity.

"We therefore urge the NFF Disciplinary Committee to thoroughly review this matter, consider the evidence presented and ensure that justice is served", Cynosure FC demanded.
