North Korean girls on Tuesday morning at the Estadio Pascual Guerrero woke legendary Diego Maradona from his grave in tears with a 6-2 in group F bashing in the world U20 female football tournament.
The Argentines were a confused bunch wondering where the North Koreans got their strength from that Samantha Weiss conceded and own goal in the 45+2nd for The North Korean’s 3rd goal.
Pak scored first for the Koreans in the 6th minute; Jon got the 2nd goal 10th minute and on resumption of the 2nd half, Hyang scored the 4th goal in the 47th minute; I. Choe got the 5th goal in the 75th minute and her sister, K. Choe topped it up in the 90+2nd minute.

The Albicelestes of Argentina making their 4th appearances at the U20 women’s level are not as hot as the Argentina senior Men’s team. The girls lost at all the previous games at the group levels especially in 2006, 2008 and 2012.
The North Koreans won their first title at Russia 2006 beating China 5-0 in the final; won the title again at Papua New Guinea in 2016 when France bowed 1-3 in the finals; in 2008 at Chile North Korea lost the title to USA but 2014 in Canada was wonderful when she lost the Bronze to France 2-3; that year Nigeria had beaten North Korean 6-2 in the semifinal at Moncton but Nigeria lost the final in Canada to Germany by a lone goal in Montreal.
In the same group F, Netherlands beat the Costa Rican babes 2-0. Costa Rica lost an early penalty advantage to VAR in the 6th minute which demoralized the team.
Frijns had located Veerie Buurman who scored Netherlands’ first goal in the 24th minute and Lacroix linked Eva Elberink who made it 2-0 in the 76th minute in a match that was devoid of any yellow or red card.
North Korea heads group F with 3 points and 6 goals; Netherlands is 2nd with 3 points and 2 goals; Costa Rica is 3rd with 0 points and O goals but Argentina will need to upgrade with their 0 points and -4 goals deficit.
