Confederation of African Football, CAF, has included Emmanuel Amuneke amongst its African Legends that will grace Monday Night's Award Gala Night in Morocco, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The prestigious annual Awards Gala Night has been scheduled to take place on Monday, 11 December 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco, 7pm Moroccan time.

The 1994 African Footballer of the Year, confirmed exclusively from Spain, his current base, that CAF has duly contacted him and that he was due to travel for Morocco this weekend.

"I've been invited by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, for the CAF Awards and Gala Night holding in Morocco on Monday", Amuneke told Exclusivenews.com.ng Thursday afternoon from his base in Spain.

Amuneke, a former Super Eagles Assistant Coach and former coach of 2015 Golden Eaglets squad that won the FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, equally scored the winning goal as Nigeria U23s won the 1996 Olympic Games Soccer Gold after a 3-2 triumph over Argentina.

Amuneke, who was 'Shocked' to see myself win the 1994 CAF player Of The Year ahead of George Weah, Tony Yeboah and Titi Camara, has held coaching roles in Sudan and Egypt, including leading the Taifa Stars of Tanzania to the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
