Blessing Kingsley, a former Republic of Ireland U17 international striker of Nigerian descent, has officially pledged her international future to Nigeria, opting to represent the Super Falcons at the senior level.

Born on January 15, 2002, in Carlow, Ireland, to Nigerian parents, Kingsley currently plays for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in the United States.

Her football journey began at Presentation College, where she showcased her talent early. Kingsley represented Ireland at the U17 level, earning nine caps and scoring one goal. Her club career highlights include competing in the UEFA Champions League with Wexford Youths, winning several domestic titles, and excelling in the U.S. collegiate system. During her sophomore season with the Golden Eagles, she scored six goals and provided two assists, further solidifying her reputation as a promising striker.

Speaking about her decision to play for Nigeria, Kingsley expressed pride in her heritage. “It’s a country I eagerly wish to represent. I embrace my culture and feel deeply connected to my roots,” she said.

Kingsley’s decision adds another talented forward to Nigeria’s ever-impressive pool of players, as the Super Falcons continue to assert their dominance on the African continent and beyond.
