A shocking incident has gripped the commercial town of Aba in Abia State as police authorities are trying to unravel the incident leading to the death of a Woman in a Guest House. This however has led to  the arrest of Bishop Timothy Otu, the General Overseer of Agape Evangelical Ministry. 

This incident happened at a guest house in Ovom village, Obingwa Local Government Area, leaving the community in disbelief.

The victim, identified as 43-year-old evangelist Happiness Echieze, was attached to a Pentecostal church in Aba. Her life came to a tragic end under puzzling circumstances during her stay at the guest house.

Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, released a statement revealing the unsettling details. The incident was reported on August 13th, 2023, by a resident of Jubilee Guest House, Mr. Godwin Akpan. Akpan's account shed light on the events of the fateful night.

"On the evening of August 12th, 2023, around 09:25 PM, a clergyman named Timothy Otu (male), associated with Agape Evangelical Ministry at Obikabia Junction in Obingwa LGA, had checked into the guest house along with a woman named Happiness Echieze (female) from Isiala Ngwa LGA, Abia State," revealed Mr. Akpan.

Chinaka said , "Further details provided by Mr. Akpan indicated that on the same date, around 12:00 AM, he entered the hotel room of the aforementioned clergyman and discovered the lifeless body of Happiness Echieze. She was found unclothed, and a white substance was emanating from her mouth and nose."

The shocking discovery prompted swift police action. Bishop Otu was apprehended and taken into custody for questioning. He has subsequently been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) as investigations into the incident continue.

The news of Echieze's untimely death has reverberated through the community, leaving many in shock and disbelief. The circumstances surrounding her demise remain shrouded in mystery, prompting widespread speculation and concern.

As authorities work to unravel the truth behind this tragic incident, the community mourns the loss of Happiness Echieze and awaits further developments in the investigation that will shed light on the events leading to her demise.
