Abia Comets FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Ikenne based side, Beyond Limits FA, on Saturday, at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

The encounter, which was an NNL Southern Conference A Matchday 20 encounter, ended goalless in the first half as nothing was shared between both sides.

The visitors made the breakthrough just two minutes after the restart to take a shocking lead in the 47th minute. 

However, Abia Comets responded as second half substitute, Wadulu Doukumo headed home a brilliant throw-in from left-back, Ikechukwu Ogbonnaya to draw level in the 56th minute for his fifth goal of the campaign.

The hosts continued to press for the match winner and nearly made a quick breakthrough after Wadulu went on a brilliant individual run to beat-off two Beyond Limits' defenders, but his strike went off the target as the game ended in a 1-1 draw in Aba.

Comets' top scorer and goal scorer of the game, Doukumo was named Man of the Match following his brilliant individual performance in the game.

Abia Comets will play hosts to Oriental Rivals, Edel FC, in the Southern Conference A final NNL regular season Matchday encounter, on Saturday, 15 June, 2025.
