Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has urged Nigerian football fans to remain patient with him as he struggles to find the back of the net at the international level.

 

The 24-year-old made the appeal via Instagram after scoring for Bayer Leverkusen in their 3-1 victory over Bochum on Friday night.

 

“9ja (Nigeria) plz (please) be patient with me, the goal will come,” Boniface wrote.

 

Despite his prolific form at the club level, Boniface has yet to replicate that success for Nigeria, failing to score in 11 appearances since his debut in 2023. His limited game time in the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, where Victor Osimhen starred, has further fueled frustrations among fans.

 

However, Boniface continues to shine for Leverkusen, with his goal against Bochum marking his 11th of the season in just 24 appearances. His ability to deliver for his club contrasts sharply with his struggles in national colors.

 

While criticism from Nigerian supporters has grown, Boniface remains determined to prove himself on the international stage. With crucial World Cup qualifiers ahead, he will be eager to silence doubters and turn his club form into goals for the Super Eagles.
