Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has commended former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar for his remarkable contributions to education in Nigeria. Obi, who was the keynote speaker at the 20th anniversary and Founders' Day celebration of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, praised Atiku for his vision and investment in establishing the institution.

Obi emphasized the importance of education in national development, urging AUN graduates to embrace leadership qualities and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria's progress. "The more society is educated, the more it develops and enjoys a quality life," he stated.

Obi also shared his thoughts on the event, expressing his admiration for Atiku's commitment to education. He referred to Atiku as his "elder brother," acknowledging his respect for the former Vice-President.
