The maiden edition of Uyo Rising Stars Football Scouting Tournament has been scheduled to hold in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State  capital, from November 9, 2024 through November 20, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Organisers have revealed that  West Itam Sports Complex, in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has been designated as venue for the grassroot football showpiece.

Munachimso Felix Nnachi, a football agent, disclosed  that Uyo Rising Stars Grassroots Scouting Tournament is a 'football programme for Nigeria/Africa grassroots soccer teams, clubs and academies amied at promoting grassroots football effectiveness, potentials of the next generation, emerging soccer stars and as well helping the players to reach their dreams of becoming future champions'.

"Uyo Rising Stars Grassroots Scouting Tournament 2024 is to promote social culture and values through sports as well as discovery of young talents", Nnachi said.

"Akwa Ibom State is safe and convenient for the event. Foreign scouts will be on hand for the selection of quality and talented players", he added.
