National President of the Association of Ex- Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ASELGON), Hon. Albert Asipa has disclosed that the members of his association have a lot to offer this country in nurturing the growth and development of its democracy. 

This he said was because of the rich experience of the members which he said is unquantifiable in terms of depth and spread, asking the association members to be conscious of that unique responsibility and be readily available to offer their services whenever they are called upon. 

Hon. Asipa, who was the Chairman of Imeko/Afon Local Government, Ogun State some years ago made this remark at the inauguration ceremony of the  Media and Publicity Committee of the association held virtually on Wednesday.

While charging the committee members to see the assignment as a call to duty, the ASELGON National President disclosed that the members were carefully selected in view of their pedigree, high sense of responsibility and commitment to the ideals of the association and expressed the hope that they would justify the confidence reposed in them. 

Responding on behalf of the Committee after the inauguration, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Frank Ilaboya commended the President and his members of Executive Council for the initiative which he described as very progressive and visionary.

Hon. Ilaboya, who remarked that the roles of the media in any human endeavour confer on the committee a huge responsibility in ensuring that the activities of the association are well projected both locally and Internationally with a promise that the President and his members of Executive Council would not regret the selection and choice of his committee members. 

Attesting to the calibre of the members of his committee, he praised the Executive Council of the association as led by the President for the choice of his committee members, saying, "Mr. President, I salute your sincerity of purpose in the formation of this committee as your choice showed painstakingness.

"I want to, on behalf of all of us thank the association for reposing in us the confidence to be its mirror to the outside world with a pledge that we shall do our utmost best not to let the association down", Hon. Ilaboya added. 

Other members of the committee inaugurated alongside Hon. Ilaboya were Hons. Bode Agbeleye (Vice- Chairman),  
Iro Njobali, Oliver Wubon, Destiny Enabulele, Bako Zamwawozayi and Mr. Oladele Ogunsola, who is the Media Consultant to the association.
