In a remarkable show of support for grassroots badminton development, former African and Nigerian champion Adejoke Abimbola has awarded a cash gift of ₦100,000 to the best upcoming players in the male and female categories.

Despite residing abroad since his retirement, Adejoke has remained deeply connected to the Nigerian badminton scene. His latest gesture supports Jonathan Okibe of Mambila Barracks Badminton Club (MBBC), FCT, and Ella Ishaya of Jos Badminton Club, who were recognized as the best upcoming players in their respective categories.

This act of generosity is set to leave a lasting impact on the development of these young players, inspiring them to reach greater heights in their careers.

Reacting to the support, both Jonathan and Ella expressed profound gratitude, noting that even though they have never met Adejoke Abimbola or his counterpart, Bisi Fajinmi, their acts of kindness will remain etched in their memories forever.
